About the IFA Ireland

The International Fiscal Association (IFA) is the leading non-governmental international organisation dealing with tax matters. It comprises taxpayers, their advisers, government officials and academics. As such, IFA is a unique forum for discussing international tax questions.

IFA is headquartered in the Netherlands and now has nearly 11,000 members worldwide deriving from 94 countries.

The objects of IFA are the study and advancement of international and comparative law in regard to public finance, specifically international and comparative fiscal law, and the financial and economic aspects of taxation.

These objects are achieved by research, the holding of congresses throughout the world where branches are located and publications.  In 2007, the Annual Congress was in kyoto. In 2008 it will be in Belgium and in 2009 in Vancouver.  Its main annual publication is the “Cahiers de Droit Fiscal International”, which examines two major subjects annually and is distributed free to members.  The official journal is the Bulletin for International Fiscal Documentation published by the International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation 12 times a year and available on subscription.
